Contemporary Clays

I was born in New Zealand and moved to the beautiful city of Canberra just before my first birthday.  I now live with my family of boys in the Macedon Ranges , which is very similar in climate to what I call ‘Home’.   

I have been involved with the Arts and Crafts movement at some level for most of my life, as I grew up the youngest member of an actively creative family.  I worked for 13 years in the family business, Blithe Bebes, where we taught porcelain dollmaking.  

I have been lucky enough to have had exposure to several excellent sculpting teachers, and I also traveled to the US to study antique doll conservation and restoration.  I completed several commissions in porcelain for convention workshop pieces, shopping centre Nativity Scenes, and a set of ¾ life sized puppets in porcelain.  

In 2001 my husband’s job moved us to Victoria .  Since then I have been working predominantly with polymer clays and metal clays, and honing my ceramic mould making skills and assisting in the development of a national certification program utilizing Contemporary Clays.  

I am a member of the National Original Doll Artists Association of Australia (NODAAA), and a member of the PMC Guild.
