About
1995 I joined a local mixed media group (Phoenix, Macedon Ranges Art
& Craft) who exhibit works twice a year in my local area. I enjoy
the experiences and ideas we share as a group. In about 1998/9 I was
invited to join a local potters group (Koorakooracup Potters) who
exhibit once a year in my local area. We also try to fit in a workshop
or two & have a bonding week of making during January each year.
In
2004 I attended the 1st Suncoast Clayworkers ‘Springfever’
conference. I found the presentation and delivery of techniques by the
attending tutors excellent and even though I am living interstate
decided to become a member so I could experience and be informed of new
and exciting ideas and trends. I find this to be a vibrant, friendly and
welcoming group to be involved with. I am currently teaching pottery at
the very place I first started. My class has students from beginners to
advanced, from ages 14 to 64.
Pottery
involves so many aspects that I never stop learning and there is always
something happening to point me in a new direction. I find all of these
activities rewarding as well as having an encouraging influence on my
work.
