I was born in New
Zealand and moved to the beautiful city of Canberra just before my first
birthday. I now live with my
family of boys in the
Macedon
Ranges
, which is very similar in climate to what I call ‘Home’.
I have been involved
with the Arts and Crafts movement at some level for most of my life, as I
grew up the youngest member of an actively creative family.
I worked for 13 years in the family business, Blithe Bebes, where
we taught porcelain dollmaking.
|
|
I have been lucky
enough to have had exposure to several excellent sculpting teachers, and I
also traveled to the
US
to study antique doll conservation and restoration. I
completed several commissions in porcelain for convention workshop pieces,
shopping centre Nativity Scenes, and a set of ¾ life sized puppets in
porcelain.

In 2001 my
husband’s job moved us to
Victoria
. Since then I have been
working predominantly with polymer clays and metal clays, and honing my
ceramic mould making skills and assisting in the development of a national
certification program utilizing Contemporary Clays.
I am a member of the
National Original Doll Artists Association of Australia (NODAAA), and a
member of the PMC Guild.
|
| I
teach craft part time and since joining The Macedon Ranges Arts
Collective in early 2009 have further developed my Jewellery design and
production skills, and also begun exploring the possibilities of
Lampworked glass.
